How can I turn an urn into a special keepsake?
We are happy to provide personal advice regarding the options and concepts to transform one of our urns into a truly special, personal memento. We also share our experiences regarding ash scattering or a water burial with a water urn and explain the areas of application for the urns designed for this purpose. The idea of keeping a mini urn as a keepsake, such as a sign of memory®, is also well-received. We can engrave these for you with a name, a quote, or the coordinates of a possible ash scattering.
Why choose an urn from Urne.ch?
With an urn from the collection URNE.CH, you are not just purchasing an urn in the traditional sense as an ash container, but you are receiving an artistic, special urn that embodies a unique urn concept. This is based on our more than 25 years of experience.
This special urn concept includes numerous details that facilitate the embedding of the ashes and protectively envelop them, or in the case of a biodegradable urn, returns the ashes to the natural cycle. This is done without harmful substances, which have often been criticized in cheap production and foreign urns.
The strength of the urn body, glaze, or coating always meets optimal conditions and fulfills the desired requirements. Whether it is biodegradable, water-soluble, solid and durable for indoor use, or even weatherproof for outdoor use.
With the ball of love ® urns featuring a stainless steel screw cap, the artist "cosmicball" Thomas Schär has gone so far in terms of attention to detail and burial culture that he has incorporated a small hatch that allows some light into the interior while also providing a connection to the outside world. The multifaceted, detailed urn concept is enriched in this case by a philosophical component!
What is a water urn?
Our water urns are specially designed for lake and river burials. They are biodegradable and water-soluble. We advise and accompany you within the framework of legal regulations in preparing for a lake or river burial in Switzerland and show you how to conduct the transfer of the ashes into the water with a water urn in the closest family circle, and if desired, even with our specially designed urn bag. Here you can find more information.
Can I label an urn?
In most cases, relatives forgo additional labeling on our urns, as the selected urn already expresses the individuality of the beloved deceased person very accurately and uniquely. If engraving is desired, it can also be planned and executed later without rush. Contact us for further information.
What regulations should be observed?
There are few regulations and restrictions regarding the handling of an urn. We are happy to provide personal advice.
Can you provide individual consultation?
We would like to encourage family members to become active and creative and to design an individual farewell together in the spirit of the deceased. By appointment and prior notification, a personal consultation with the artist can be arranged at the Urne.ch studio and showroom. When purchasing an urn or a service directly from Urne.ch, the individual consultation worth CHF 150.– is offered free of charge. Otherwise, this consulting service may be charged.
The consultation is friendly and discreet, and we always maintain a trusting relationship with authorities and crematoria. This allows us to carry out all necessary steps seriously until the handover of one of our unique urns to the relatives and survivors.
Price inquiries for unique pieces and consultations regarding the possibilities of customization and artistic painting of an urn are only offered and conducted in the Urne.ch studio and in personal contact with the artist.
