Urne.ch wants to help facilitate a discussion around the topics of dying and death and thus enrich the funeral culture. For this reason, we seek exchange with the public and also show other worthwhile projects related to the topic.

The artist ‘cosmicball’ Thomas Schär has always favoured simplicity. Simple forms, powerful and straightforward designs, structures and patterns. Honest and natural materials and surfaces that offer space for special details, colours, decorations or illustrations. That's all it takes. Simplicity that gets to the heart of the matter – that is his credo. Conventional urns, kitschy and cheap copies without history, identity or culture have always depressed him – and still do today. This is what has motivated him, day after day, for almost 30 years now, to devote himself heart and soul to the subject of urns, or URNE.CH for short.
